Reasons for stopping manga

If you've ever stopped reading a manga series. What was the reason??

For me it was
-irregular updates
-Plot was dragging on, making it boring
-Cliche'

Plot seemed to keep repeating itself
The characters weren't that unique
It was just plain boring

What kills a manga for me would generally be a lack of plot progression over a long period of time. It's kinda like Pokemon. When every episode involves Team Rocket stealing x pokemon and then getting blasted by some pokemon attack into low earth orbit, it starts to get boring.

When updates are irregular, I would put a series on hold for a while, but when updates happen again, its easy enough to go back a few chapters to remember what's been happening.

Art may also be a manga killer if the production qualities happen to decline.

Agreed with the art. I was kinda disappointed when the drawings of Fruit Basket started to get funny-looking.
But I kept reading it because it was pretty good.

the plot just got horrible
long hiatus...
i just couldnt take how stupid people were in it o-o
