When you read a manga is it usually beacuse you think it is pretty and well drawn? Or is it beacuse you actually like the storyline and the art plays no part in whether you read the manga or not?

For me its 90%:10%. 90% goes to the storyline and 10% for the art. I don't really care too much about the art. I'd rather read a good storyline *nods*

How about you?

I'm really big on terms of art.
If a story is realllly good, but the art is completely irritating, I won't read it.
If a story is really bad and the art is beautiful, I won't read it.
The story and art both take part..
But.. they should be equally okay.

I guess I can be considered shallow~
80% on the artwork~
20% on the story.
If the art work is REALLY bad, I don't bother myself reading it, unless one of my friends recommends it to me

Sometimes bad art just really puts me off (it soooo annoyed me when this one artist drew this one girl all fat and stuff....) But I don't even read a manga if I don't like the plot

so basically I only read if there's a good plot, but art does way in on the decision.

I don't (at least I haven't ever) read a manga just because I like the art~

I don't care if a manga has the best art in the world...if the plot's not good to me it's trash. Awkward

The same goes for the plot....it needs good art or I will go blind from trying to read it.

My personal split is 70/30. The art is important. If its bad its distracting. The story is more important because it gives purpose to the pictures. I am more likely to read a manga with poor art than one with a poor story. I have read some of both though. But I enjoyed the good story with the dodgey art than the one with amazing art and a thin story.

the longer the story is, the more important the art becomes Sigh

for short stories, it is like 80:20 for me
with longer stories, i'd say like 60:40?

If a story has even the slightest hint of a bad plot, I won't read it.
But at the same time, I hate bad artwork. Really puts me off it.
So if either are bad, I won't read it.
...I'm kinda fussy, I guess.
But for me, both are a MUST.
